Auth Builder for YOOtheme Pro

Auth Builder brings login, registration and logout into YOOtheme Pro as a builder element - and goes a step further than ready-made login forms: you split both forms into building blocks you can place anywhere and design login pages like any other builder page. Under the hood, only Joomla itself does the work: no separate user system, no parallel world, no double maintenance.

Built natively on Joomla

Login and logout run through the original Joomla controllers with CSRF protection, registration through the native registration model - including activation emails, user groups and multi-factor authentication. User custom fields appear automatically, the privacy consent hooks into the Joomla privacy plugin (with a GDPR consent log), and the configured captcha is rendered as well. Social login and passkey buttons use the same plugin interface as the Joomla login module and appear automatically as soon as a matching plugin is active.

Convenience for visitors

Inline validation reports errors right at the field instead of in browser bubbles: only once the visitor leaves the field, with instant feedback as soon as the input is correct. The minimum password length comes from your Joomla configuration, the password confirmation is checked live, and email addresses need a real domain. Password fields reveal their content via an eye icon, date fields use the browser's native date picker and can block all dates below a minimum age. Visitors switch between login and registration via tabs, subnav, pills or a segmented toggle - or with no visible navigation at all through toggle links with your own wording, optionally with a transition animation.

Quick start: live in three steps

1. Insert the Auth Builder element from the Tonino Gerns group.
2. Choose the form mode: login, registration or both with a toggle.
3. Set the details under Settings: remember me, forgot links, plugin login buttons, button style and redirects after login, logout and registration. Done - automatic mode renders the complete form.

Quick start: build your own layout

Set the layout mode to Custom Layout. The panes area shows a login, a register and a logout pane - deliberately empty, so you start on a clean canvas. As long as a pane is empty, the customizer tells you right inside it which building blocks belong there. Open a pane and work as you do everywhere else in the builder: add rows and columns, images and headlines, and insert form building blocks from the dedicated Auth Builder picker tab. In a few minutes you have a split layout with an image on the left and a form card on the right - and you design the view for logged-in visitors freely too, including a greeting with their name. You style the pane itself under Settings as a card or tile with adjustable padding.

• Account Field: renders a native Joomla field. The dropdown automatically shows only what makes sense in the current pane - login fields in the login pane, registration fields including custom fields in the register pane. Per field: your own label, an accessibly hidden label, and a minimum age for date fields.
• Account Action: submit button (style, size, width - optionally inherited from the main element), plugin login buttons, remember me, forgot links, a greeting with the logged-in user's name, or a toggle link with text before and after it, such as Don't have an account yet? Register.
• Safety net: If a required field is missing from the register pane, the customizer shows a warning listing the missing fields before any visitor notices. If you delete a pane entirely, the live page automatically renders the complete automatic form in its place - a broken login area cannot happen.

Quick start: prepare registration in Joomla

• Allow registration: Users, Options - this is also where you choose the activation type (immediately, by email, by an administrator).
• Custom fields: create and publish them under Users, Fields - they appear in the form automatically.
• Privacy consent: enable the Joomla plugin System - Privacy Consent. The notice text, mandatory consent and GDPR log then run automatically.
• Captcha: choose the Joomla captcha you want in the user options - it is rendered automatically.

If something does not appear

• A custom field is greyed out? Joomla locks fields for guests until the field's Edit Custom Field Value permission is set to Allowed for the Guest group.
• No passkey button? Joomla only shows it over HTTPS - and only in the login form, because passkeys sign in existing accounts.
• No register form? Then registration is disabled in the Joomla user options - the element hides the register part automatically and points this out to you in the customizer.
• Logged-in users don't see the form? That is intended: they get the freely designable logout pane with a greeting and logout button - or nothing at all, configurable under Behavior when logged in. For design work there is a builder preview of the logged-in view.
