About me
Who is Tonino Gerns?
Web developer for Joomla and YOOtheme Pro, self-employed since 2011 - one contact from the first sketch to ongoing maintenance.
I have been working as a self-employed web developer since 2011, and before that as an IT system administrator. That is why I care about servers, load time and security as much as about the layout. My clients are businesses in East Westphalia-Lippe, Schaumburg, Nienburg and the Hanover region, as well as agencies across Germany, for whom I work as a white label partner. We coordinate remotely via WhatsApp, email or video call, and you can see progress on a staging address.
On the technical side, I use Joomla with YOOtheme Pro for websites that need regular editing, and Astro with Strapi as a headless CMS for lean, largely static sites. Accessibility under BFSG and WCAG 2.1 AA is planned in from the start, not added as an afterthought. In 2019, one of my websites won the J!OTTO Award "Just Joomla" for technically clean Joomla web design, and in 2015 I received the J.O.S.C.A.R. for "Innovation of the Year" at the J and Beyond conference.
